The Tooth and Coin PodcastThe Tooth and Coin Podcast is Back
Oh, hey there, you ambitious dentist, you! It's been a while, I know. You've probably wondered what's become of me and why I took a break from recording podcasts. But have no fear—I’m back! And I'm here to be more consistent with my content as we kick off the newly minted Tooth and Coin Podcast.
What's This Podcast All About?
In this first episode, we'll cover three key topics. First, we'll dive into the core purpose of this podcast: what it is and what it aims to achieve. I'll also share my sneaky, ulterior motive behind investing my time into this content—because let's be honest, every content creator has a motive. We'll also discuss what the podcast is not, because that's just as crucial. Finally, we'll explore what I'd accomplish if I could wave a magic wand for Tooth and Coin as a whole.
Where I've Been
Let's rewind a bit—to when the last episode of "Tooth and Coin" dropped three years ago. During that time, Tooth and Coin, our CPA firm, doubled in size. This growth demanded that I step back from content creation to focus on delivering high-quality services and fostering a team of top-notch talent. This journey hasn't been perfect, and there have been bumps along the road, but continuous self-improvement remains a core value of ours.
Growing up, I was obsessed with a concept in video games called "min-maxing," a mathematical approach to optimizing performance. I applied a similar mindset to our firm, focusing on delivering top-tier services. But now, with a solid foundation in place, it's time to return to content creation because there's a lot to talk about.
The Podcast's Vision
So, what's in store for the Tooth and Coin Podcast? We'll explore financial analysis in dental practice ownership, making complex concepts digestible. We'll also provide a platform for sharing lessons and experiences from our 400 clients—both successes and failures—and actionable strategies to grow businesses and increase profits. Tax topics will be covered, too. While most episodes will be self-hosted, we'll occasionally feature guests who can add valuable insights to our discussions.
What This Podcast Won't Be
Let's clarify what this podcast is not. It's not going to be boring lectures on economic theories. While educational content is important, we'll ensure it remains engaging. It won't be a sales pitch for the Tooth and Coin CPA firm either; instead, we'll focus on creating great content. This podcast will not be a one-way conversation. I aim to foster engagement and community interaction, and while this isn't ready right now, it's on the roadmap. Lastly, it's not a replacement for personalized financial advice; consult your CPA for advice tailored to your situation.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, my ultimate vision is for Tooth and Coin to become a thriving community. While we aim to provide top-notch CPA services, this industry is filled with incredible people that I hope to support on their journeys through entrepreneurship, leadership, and financial management.
I have no illusions of grandeur, but I do see the potential for a community to collaboratively solve problems. Let's crowdsource solutions and support each other through the ups and downs of dental practice ownership.
So here we are, embarking on this renewed journey together. Buckle up—it's going to be a fun ride!
